This student is showing tremendous progress in his work ethic and determination to improve his reading comprehension and writing skills. From the end of last year (including his 2nd semester in general, to know in the 1st quarter of his 7th grade year, I am seeing the positive progression of his overall academic growth.

Phillis Wheatley Interpretation Analysis

This example shows a groups performance on this analysis presentation. This mini-presentation allowed the students to interpret and analyze a work of poetry that was written in 1773. Students had to collaborate and communicate their thoughts on the given meaning behind the voice through analysis of text and creativity in picture depictions inferring the meaning behind her words.

Hidden Truth Journalist Activity

This particular activity focused on our novel study, Between Shades of Gray, and allowed the students to take an in-depth look and analysis of what was happening behind the scenes of the violence. This gave my students a new "voice" to research and investigate the "why" (even if we can't truly answer this questions still today) on the other sides of written word by becoming advanced beginner journalists in their own right.

Sample 6th grade Unit Assessment

The 6th grade Literature Exam encompassed many varying aspects of their learning experience in the classroom. Students had quotation analysis identification questions, figurative language inquiry questions, comprehensive short answer questions along with grammatical inquiry using contextual evidence.

Grade 7 Syllabus

The 7th grade syllabus gives me a platform to express and showcase my love of teaching in a new light. I do, however, create syllabi each year to not only inform the parents/students of their year-at-a-glance," but also create a platform where my experience, creativity, and innovative thinking within my curriculum is illustrated in an effective manner.

5E Model Lesson Plan

The 5E Model plan I created in specific to the 6th grade curriculum outlines the students creativity in thought and investigation within the daily ins and outs of having Cerebral Palsy. Students had to engage in a video/talk about the given motor disability, explore research without verbal communication on their findings, and elaborate through small group presentations on their findings to become more familiar and gain a better understanding of the main characters perspective.

Outsiders Comprehension Assessment (8th) Example

The assessments I give can range from multiple choice, short answer responses, to paragraph analysis of given quotes following a specific objective/standard. Here is one small example of one of these assessments for the novel, Outsiders.
